That was another impressive effort and execution by the basketball team today. So many guys stepping up and making it happen:

Obinna: Only 2 points, but 12 rebounds, including 3 on the offensive end.

Lee: He was gassed throughout the game, and it showed in his free throws (5-9) and 3 point attempts (0-5). However, he scored 14 of his 19 points in the second half with an array of magical drives and finishes, played tenacious defense which resulted in four steals-one of which was the game clincher, 4 assists, 4 boards-including an absolutely mammoth one late in the second half. Just an excellent leader by both his words and his actions.

Pippen Jr.: Remember when he couldn't hit the free throws in the Georgia game and the first 30 minutes of the next game? Well, forget that now: 15-16 from the line against S. Carolina, along with some houdini like moves in and around the basket.

Evans: He kept the team in the game in the first half, and remained steady in the second half, including a tremendous finish with his left hand in traffic with the shot clock winding down.

Disu: started slow, but picked it up as the game went along, pulling some big rebounds, hitting some timely shots, and another excellent block that I saw in the second half.

Albert: stats don't show much, but he started and played 23 valuable minutes, and helped hold the fort when Lee had to sit down with foul trouble. He's a great example of grit and determination in the face of adversity.

Jankovic, Wright, Rice, and Jossell: each saw important minutes, even if they were only two or three; those two or three minutes allowed the starters to get a much needed rest to help push through at the end and preserve the victory.

CJS has molded this squad into a unit that refuses to throw in the towel, even when it would be so easy, and understandable, to do so. He and his staff are to be commended for what they have accomplished with these young men.

The fans in attendance: They were a great sixth man today, helping to will their team to a win. They are to be commended for their enthusiasm and encouragement.
