I don't want this to sound like a lecture. I certainly am not someone who should be lecturing anyone on what they should believe or how they should think. But I would like to just offer my thoughts on a couple reactions about baseball that I have read here or other places:
1. I have read several comments about how some are so happy that Austin and Vastine will no longer be on the team, that some are so ready to be rid of them. Well, not me. RJ and Jonathan are VandyBoys. I have enjoyed watching them play, they have contributed an awful lot to this program. And I thank them for that and wish them well.
2. I read at least one comment where someone said--"I hate this team". I don't believe this to really be true of course. I know we don't discuss politics here so I'll just say that if you keep up with current events at all, you are well aware of what happens when people hate each other, whether it is around the world or in this country. To my knowledge, not a single player or coach has done anything that would cause anyone to react to them in this way. True hate is a very strong emotion. Please exercise caution when you use the word hate when referring to an individual person or groups of people.
