I don't know if any of you listened to 104.5's wake up zone this morning, but Mark Howard and Frank Wycheck were essentially saying that prospects should not sign a national letter of intent. The basis for this argument is that coaches leave for other jobs right after signing day, and these prospects sign because of a certain coach on the staff. Howard thinks players should sign financial aid agreements. Those serve the same purpose, but the prospects can opt out of going to that school.
On the flip side, you have coaches like Bo Pelini and Paul Johnson who want to end signing day all together. They believe a kid should be able to sign a letter of intent right after a prospect commits. They believe that would stop the non-committable offers and wavering from prospects.
