Did a little checking in regarding Vandy's chances... this is mostly speculative but the people I talked to are fairly well-plugged in and given me great info before, so...
One source told me Vanderbilt feels "good" about its chances with Sasaki and another one termed it "50/50" and added that what he was hearing was that other schools saw it the same way.
If you remember, Sasaki's original list was something like Cal and Vanderbilt and then UCLA and Stanford were added. That made me wonder, is it really Vanderbilt vs. a particular school vs. Vanderbilt vs. him wanting to be on the West Coast, and my source's read on it was the latter.
The other thing of note: a source said the language barrier has made Sasaki difficult to read.
