- JUCO offensive lineman Egidio DellaRipa will officially visit Vanderbilt this weekend. The guard prospect visited Louisville last weekend, but he is no longer considering the Cardinal. He is currently committed to Fresno State.
"Going into the visit, I know the academic status that Vanderbilt hold, so I'm excited to see the actual campus. Football wise, I'm hoping to see a team and staff that I could feel comfortable with the next 3-4 years. Basically, I want a home that I fit in at," said DellaRipa.
"Well being a JUCO player and having a year less of eligibility, (playing time) is a worry, but other factors that play in is how I just turned 18 in October and the thought of taking a redshirt if they don't need immediate help isn't a bad idea. Of course, this is all stuff that I'm gonna talk to the staff about while I'm there."
- 3-star offensive lineman Sterling Strother named a top 10 earlier in the week. Cal, Columbia, Harvard, Northwestern, Oregon, Penn, Princeton, Stanford, Vanderbilt, and Yale made the cut. Vanderbilt has yet to offer the 6-foot-4 offensive lineman, but that could change in the spring evaluation period. Strother is an athletic prospect, and Vanderbilt is looking for tackles in this class.
Junior Highlights
- Another California offensive lineman to watch this spring is Jake Curhan. The massive tackle prospect likes the Commodores, and he thinks they are close to pulling the trigger. He also has offers from Cal, Boise State, Washington State, and others.
Junior Highlights
- Calhoun offensive lineman Jack Defoor recently replaced Vanderbilt with Georgia Tech in his top 3. He now lists Clemson, Ole Miss, and Georgia Tech as his top schools. Many believe that Clemson could be the team to beat.
- 4-star athlete DJ Morgan informed VandySports.com that he was re-offered by Vanderbilt two weeks ago. Vanderbilt likes him at free safety, and he is impressed with Marc Mattioli. At one point this spring, he named Arizona State and Vanderbilt his leaders. With the offer, Vanderbilt could be a major player here.
Junior Highlights
- Running back target Damarea Crockett named Arizona State his leader with Boise State and Vanderbilt right behind them. With Harbison choosing going to Virginia, Crockett could be a major target for the Commodores.
Junior Highlights
- Omaha outside linebacker Noah Fant announced that he will visit Vanderbilt next month. Most schools are recruiting him as a defensive end, but he likes the thought of playing outside linebacker.
- Vanderbilt was all over the state of Tennessee yesterday. I know that Vanderbilt visited Cookeville, McCallie, Trinity Chrisitian, Whitehaven, Alcoa, Coffee County, and many, many more yesterday.
- Vanderbilt will also host a junior day this weekend. We hope to bring you a list of visitors and reactions throughout the next few days.
