***Reggie Grimes will take his official visit to Alabama this weekend. To reiterate, it still doesn't appear he is a take for the Crimson Tide at the moment. Grimes told us that Tennessee and Florida State will get visits after Alabama. He also took an unofficial to Ole Miss recently along with another trip to Vanderbilt for the season opener against Georgia. South Carolina is still very much involved, Grimes took an official there over the summer. He will make his college decision on Thanksgiving.
***R.J. Adams hasn't went public yet, but there are multiple reports from various Penn State sites that Adams has decommitted from the Nittany Lions. The four-star prospect is doing this coming off a visit to Kentucky over the weekend. That may be purely a coincidence, but it seems the Wildcats are in the mix. Adams was at Vanderbilt for the Georgia game, but heavy-hitters like Alabama and LSU are also coming after the talented offensive lineman from Virginia.
***Rivals.com Midwest Analyst Josh Helmholdt recently caught up with Minnehaha Academy (Minn.) OLB Kaden Johnson this week. There had been previous reports from other outlets that a possible Vanderbilt official was in the works for Johnson, but that doesn't appear to be the case for now. The four-star prospect just picked up new offers from Tennessee and LSU. He will take his second official visit to Nebraska this month with Oregon State being in possible contention to receive one in October. Johnson previously took an official to Wisconsin back in the summer and is considering the hometown team, Minnesota, as well.
***The Commodores will likely have another good group of visitors on campus for the LSU game, one target that confirmed with me he'll be on West End is 2022 St. Charles (Mo.) Lutheran running Arlen Harris. The St. Louis product is already highly-sought after and the Commodores were one of the first programs to jump with an offer - Illinois, Iowa, Iowa State, Indiana, Michigan State, Minnesota are the others. Harris currently leads the St. Louis metro region in rushing yards in the early season.
***Hoover (Ala.) running back Dylan Betts-Pauley is an early 2021 target to keep an eye on. Tim Horton has been in contact with the 6-foot, 220-pound prospect, who is a punishing runner. The three-star prospect said he will be visiting for a game in October. Betts-Pauley told me his brother is good friends with Jordan Matthews, so he knows a lot about Vanderbilt.
