First off, Vanderbilt will not host any official visitors this weekend.

- The Commodores extended an offer to 3-star WR Geordon Porter out of Etiwanda (Calif.). Porter is fresh off his fourth official visit to Tennessee last weekend. He's also taken officials to Notre Dame, Arizona State, and Utah. The former Notre Dame commit is a hot commodity on the recruiting trail, having picked up a ton of recent offers from the likes of Florida, Texas A&M, and others.

It's unclear where Porter will take his fifth official visit at this time, he'll be at UCLA this weekend on an unofficial visit where the Bruins also appear to be a contender for Porter.

In other words, this will be an uphill battle for Vanderbilt.

- Speaking of UCLA, they are in the mix for DL target Christian Jones and could possibly get an official visit from him down the road. However, this weekend, Jones will take an official to Cal. The 3-star prospect rescheduled his OV to Vanderbilt for the weekend of February 3rd. The Bruins and Syracuse could get the visit in between.

- Let's continue with the UCLA theme. We've heard that is a battle between UCLA and Vanderbilt for Elijah Wade. The Bruins are recruiting Wade as an outside linebacker, while the Commodores want him as a defensive end. Vanderbilt is in a good spot here and many feel that Wade will make a decision sometime before national signing day.

- Transitioning to Malik Langham, he's been very quiet of late. We've done our part in reaching out to him and we've even got Chad Simmons to reach out, but even he told us that Langham is keeping things close to the vest when it comes to his recruiting process.

He's visiting Alabama this weekend and currently we've heard there is room for him there. Langham will take OV's to Florida and Tennessee over the last two weekends before NSD. So, it looks like the Crimson Tide and Volunteers are the main contenders here.

- JUCO QB target Jack Colletto is visiting Oregon State this weekend. He will take his official to Vanderbilt next weekend. Sure, there seems to be some buzz with the Beavs since he's visiting this weekend, but we're also hearing Vanderbilt is in good shape as well. Location and being close to home (he's originally from Washington) is appealing, but he's very interested in an opportunity to play in the SEC as well and values academics too. We'll see which one carries the most weight for him.

- We put up a graduate transfer tracker thread with a link to a website I found that keeps up with such things. I also included a list of guys that Vanderbilt is at least checking in on. Hit the link below for all that:

- In basketball recruiting news, top remaining target Romeo Langford plays on ESPNU tonight at 4:30 central time and the Vanderbilt staff will be on hand for the action.
