I can't help but look at this roster and believe that it is not getting its fair due. In fact, it is almost being discarded and ignored by fans and media. The fascination with the bleakness of last season and the agonizing over what the coach might say in a press conference all seems to have cast a complete shadow over what looks to me to be one of the biggest and deepest SEC-caliber rosters I can remember at VU. We have the biggest collection of O Linemen I have ever seen at Vandy. We're fully stocked with monster LB's and long and fast edge rushers. We actually have a bunch of true dual threat tight ends, including our second team all conference dude, Scheu. We've sprinkled in some big time true freshmen talents like Smith, Peart, DeBrossard, and Sheffield. Tons of returning experience from last year's record setting number of freshmen playing. If it weren't for all the recycled, repetitive doom and despair talk ringing in my ears, I might look at our actual players and start to get pretty pumped!
