why can’t our offensive coordinators seemingly not design plays to get the ball into the hands of our playmakers ? not once every 3 possessions, but every freaking down.
screw setting up the run by the pass, or the pass by the run.
just get the ball to any player with some semblance of speed and elusiveness and see what happens. do we have a d.j. moore on the roster ? give it to him every damn play. the results can’t be any shabbier than last weeks anemic effort.
jet sweeps, reverses, bubble screens, simple toss sweeps, whatever.
quit forcing square pegs into round holes, and just let the chips fall as they may giving the ball every down, in every situation, and from any field position to the guys ( perhaps fewer than we would like or hope at this point ) who can make things happen on their own.
we will not be imposing our will on ANY team in the foreseeable future, so why not simply get creative.
time of possession is irrelevant in today’s game.
flip it here, pitch it there, double reverse it, Statue of Liberty it, fumblerooskie it….anything to add an element of excitement , spontaneity, and creativity to our game.
in the process, this controlled chaos might even win a few fans back.
if we lose, at least it was fun trying.
- go Pitt !
