NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia has continued to see the accolades roll in this week after engineering a 40-35 victory over No. 1 Alabama.

Pavia has now been selected national player of the week by both the Maxwell and Davey O'Brien Awards. The graduate student was already named the SEC Offensive Player of the Week for the win over the Tide.

The Albuquerque, New Mexico, native was 16-for-20 passing for 252 yards and two touchdowns against the Crimson Tide. Both passing touchdowns extended Vandy’s lead to two scores in the second half, including one to Junior Sherrill on a 4th-and-1 late in the third quarter. He added 56 yards on 20 carries to finish with 308 yards of total offense. His 218.8 pass efficiency rating was his highest of the season. He’s thrown for at least two touchdowns in four of five games this season.

The Maxwell Award is presented annually to the best all-around college football player by the Maxwell Football Club. The award dates back to 1937 and is awarded at The Home Depot ESPN College Football Awards in December.

The Davey O'Brien Award is also presented at The Home Depot ESPN College Football Awards and given to the nation's top quarterback.

Pavia and the Commodores return to action Saturday at Kentucky. Kickoff is set for 6:45 p.m. CT on SEC Network.
