With this unique perspective, I was paying attention to the size/build of our players.
Unfortunately we have a LOT of players who reminded me of the players from the 1980s - smallish and very unathletic-looking. I know we have a larger roster now with plenty of walk-ons and it’s really only the top 50 guys that make the difference. So I don’t want to make too big a deal of that. But to be fair a lot of guys who get a lot of playing time just don’t look like SEC athletes.
But there are some who do. I was commenting to my son that Issa looks like the kind of guy that upper-level SEC teams have an abundance of. We have a couple. I thought I’d send post a list of 15 players who I think pass the look test:
