Between our now regular, stellar representation in the NCAA baseball tourney, our big time success in the "Olympic" sports, and our ever increasing presence in MLB, NBA, golf, etc...Vanderbilt athletics has taken the Summer by storm. What used to be a long, boring VU sports draught season is now a constant source of thrills and pride. We had three former Commodores in the NBA semifinals!!! (Yes, I most definitely claim DMC who helped us double sweep UK.) You know that makes ole Doctordore proud. Our major leaguers continue to make huge splashes. Did you see Pedro crush one into a boat last week?? We had a VU Cy Young winner cheering on a VU BEAST, who dunked Dwight Howard out of the playoffs! Corbin and Co. always bring us thrilling, riveting entertainment well into June. Women's tennis grabs us our third Natty. And we will likely dominate the first round of the MLB draft. Who'd have thought May and June could be so exciting?!?!
