I haven't seen many things like what happened tonight.
It had to be at least 70% Tennessee fans. Probably more. I haven't been around super long but that's the most opposing fans I've ever seen there. Vanderbilt had some nice moments as a crowd but Tennessee was louder. It was most noticeable when Dalton Knecht scored, there was a huge roar. Tennessee fans sang Rocky Top a few times at the end of the game. When Knecht walked off in front of us after doing his postgame interview there were rows upon rows of Tennessee fans waiting for him to run off the floor.
There were so many Tennessee fans, and perhaps some disgruntled Vandy fans, that Stackhouse was audibly boo'd during introductions. A few Vandy students had paper bags on their heads, as well. I was told that there were some chants in the student section but I didn't hear them so I won't run with that.
Zakai Ziegler said it best, that was a Tennessee home game. Their fans sent a message today but so did Vanderbilt's. The feel in there was unlike what I've experienced there before.
