Spoke with Jason Stamm over at HokieHaven.com, he did a post official visit interview with Houshun Gaines tonight and actually talked with him after his in-home visit with Vandy RB coach Charles Bankins.
Gaines told him that as far as his recruiting process is concerned, it's down to Virginia Tech and Vanderbilt. He was scheduled to take an official visit to Virginia this upcoming weekend, but has cancelled that visit.
Bankins visiting him tonight gave him an opportunity to meet Gaines' mother and grandmother, since they didn't make the trip to Nashville during his official visit (it was just Gaines and his father that weekend).
Virginia Tech is scheduled to have an in-home visit with him on Thursday, and then after that he will likely decide. He told Stamm that he didn't want to rush into a decision after his official visits and wanted to talk it over completely with his entire family, but intends to decide before signing day.
Stamm said that he thinks it is a close race between VT and Vandy, he thinks it's about 55/45 in favor of the Hokies right now.
