I was just listening to the Greg Pogue show, and he had a professional sports better (I forget his name) on the show, talking about betting lines on the NCAAT.
Pogue asked him about Vanderbilt not getting in, even though they were one of the hottest teams in the country at the end of the year. He said, "they were playing very well, and was one of the best teams in the country right now. I would have them favored over probably 15 at large teams right now. But, the selection process is based on what you did all season, and they didn't do enough in November and December."
That pretty much says it all.
