My interest level has dropped considerably with our ouster last night but I still consider the CWS to be one of college sports greatest events. There's always so many good teams and interesting stories. Also, if you've never been to Omaha, I highly recommend the experience at least once in your life.
After some amazing come-from-behind wins yesterday the CWS is shaping up to be one of those years where 5 National Seeds make it there. Since 1999 when they went to the present format that's the most NS to get there (tied for one other year.)
Your 1st round match-ups are likely to be:
#1 Oregon St vs. Fullerton (maybe LBSt, but I think Fullerton wins game 3 today, they are adept at getting to Omaha)
#4 LSU vs. Florida St. (SEC-ACC)
#7 Louisville vs. Texas A&M (SEC-ACC again)
#3 Florida vs. #6 TCU
Not likely it totally works out, but we could end up with
Oregon St vs. LSU,
and
Florida vs. Louisville
in the winner's bracket.
That would result in some awesome baseball to watch methinks. It could also easily end up being an all-SEC finals and just as likely to end up being a no-SEC finals.
