Am I alone in my thinking or is there anyone else who understands where I am coming from? I will be in Memorial every game cheering for Vandy. I don't keep up with transfers, etc. so I depend on this board for that information. And, if that information is accurate, it seems we have a chance to win a bunch of games when you add the transfers to the returning players. But, for me, it won't be as much fun as I had watching many of Stallings' teams or Fogler's teams. At least not early on. Because those other teams were mostly "my" players. I watched them for several seasons and got to know them, even the few transfers were here for more than a year. Over the course of this season, I'll get to know the new players but it won't be quite the same. I know the "old days" are gone and the portal and buying players is where it stands now. Not just basketball but all sports. I do want Vanderbilt to be a player in this new era because I want to have competitive, winning teams. But I have to wonder what the future holds for college athletics.
