Owls stun No. 16 Nova as fans twice storm court
In what was a Big 5 classic, Temple upset No. 16 Villanova 68-64 on Friday night, sending the Owls' fans into a court-storming frenzy -- twice! -- at Liacouras Center.
Big win for Temple, so big the fans stormed the court twice. Telling info in the next to last paragraph as two Villanova starters did not play. Nice W for the Owls though.
I once saw Brentwood HS host Ravenwood and the fans from both schools wound up storming the court. The Bruins fans did so at the (seemingly) end of regulation, but alas the BHS coach had called a time out before his team hit what we all thought was the game winning field goal. Home team fans stormed the court. Had to doit over, and in OT the Ravenwood fans got to storm the court after a win. For real.
