It is the charge of every football team that plays Vanderbilt to avoid the embarrassment of losing to a school whose mascot looks like it came from Captain Ds, to a school that has to blow a cruise ship horn just before kickoff to roust the frat boys from their parties, to a school that has had more winless SEC football seasons than any other program in league history, to a school that has owned the Tennessee Vols, to the only school in the SEC that doesn’t cheat on some level.Occasionally, Vanderbilt will rise up against the SEC’s elite and make a game interesting for a half to 2 1/2 quarters. It’s not happening Saturday. By the alcohol partaking LSU fans get a buzz considering it is an 11 a.m. kickoff, LSU should be three TDs ahead en route to a 58-10 win. Joe Burrow cracks the 400-yard mark. A splendid time is guaranteed for all, except for the 83 Vanderbilt fans in attendance. Dining tip: Eat breakfast at Pancake Pantry not far from Vanderbilt campus.
