Opening Statement:
- Gives credit to LSU. Players executed well. Created havoc on defense. Solid on special teams. Thought Derek Stingley made a difference. Says they learned a lot about his football team. Said Kaufman played hard - fast, quick, and can do some things. Mentioned Marlow and Wakefield did a great job.
On defensive effort tonight compared to last week:
- Thought players looked a little off. A lot of missed tackles early. Didn't close out on tackles early in the game. Didn't come off the edges well either. Put Dayo and Mintze on same side trying some things, but LSU adjusted well. More about fundamentals with them more than anything. Needed more push in the pocket from their inside guys.
On catching LSU after a loss:
- Thought they did a good job of executing their game plan. They did a poor job of executing theirs.
On dealing with good and bad of a freshman QB:
- Says they are going to grow as he grows. Has to understand when they are in scoring position to take the points. Wants to make sure that the offense always walks away from points when those opportunities present themselves.
On run game when Brooks returns:
- Seeing pieces of an offense trying to figure out what it could do. Shows they have opportunity for ball control. Says there is a formula there the team can build on offensively.
