Losing hurts like a million punches to the gut...

But fans (both rival and fellow) make it all SO much worse.

I really wish I could watch the games in a bubble, yet still be there to support the team. As a fan, it was just brutal to endure those botched endzone plays last night. Seeing us miss a field goal and lose by 2 was just fantastic. And all this while seeing clear improvement from the miserable debacle of last season. So taking losses is bad enough for a proud, die(very)hard, competitive person like me. But taking the nasty, constant, vile jeers from drunk WKU idiots all night (and having to use it as a game-long, life lesson for my 13 year old son), then reading the weirdly gleeful, yet predictable trolling, taunting, and general disrespect on my own team's message board cranks the misery up to eleven. It always does. Why come on here and read it all?? That's a great question. I guess it's the only place to "discuss" my team with anyone who cares. Problem is that very few post as if they truly do care. The good news is that after experiencing the aftermath of a loss in this manner, I get to also take "friendly" jabs from all my rival fan friends each and every day till the next game. Thank you fellow humans for all always treating me as if I somehow caused the loss, liked the loss, didn't feel the loss, am an idiot for loyally supporting my team, etc.

But try as everyone might to crush my spirits...it ain't gonna work.
