As I saw the trajectory of the ball and a glimpse of the defender on the wrong side of his man, I thought "Wichita State" and "Corey Smith". The defender retreated and in a desperate stretch deflected the ball away from the Redbird player about 8 feet from the basket. If the ODU defender had gone another half-step, or had hesitated for a milli-second it would have been a replica of the VU game winner.
Obviously, Dan worked with CKS for a decade and obviously, he picked up something along the way.
