As I read the posts about Mason..being on hot seat next year, I am wondering..
How long should a coach be given to run a program around/be successful in your eyes?
At Vanderbilt I often wonder whether quick attempts/changes are as effective as they are at other schools. Did James Franklin cause a huge shift? So Far at PSU he has gone 7-6 in 2014 and 7-5 this year.. (Has he torn it up in the Big 10 - plus he walked into a situation with a really outstanding QB)
I think Vandy is such a different animal. I always think 4-5 years is needed, simply because of the difficulty of making connections with High School coaches, the fact that they aren't a BIG STATE SCHOOL, etc.
Sure those can be looked at as excuses..it took Bobby Johnson a long time to get there.
I am just curious at your thoughts.
For me year 4 should be the hot seat year..then he will mostly have his players in there. I do think if he is here 4 years, with Coach Ludwig, that if not next year, the year after they will be bowling.
