Johnston (IA) 2024 tight end Jacob Simpson recently picked up another SEC opportunity from Vanderbilt, picking up an offer from the Commodores on Wednesday, Nov. 9.
The 6-foot-5, 220-pound recruit out of Johnston, IA. spoke with VandySportsDotCom about how it felt to collect the opportunity from Vanderbilt and detailed his interest in the program.
"It feels great picking up another offer from the best conference in college football," Simpson said. "I've been in contact with various coaches for the past month, thankfully picking up the offer from Coach Lustig recently. I'm excited to visit and learn more about Vanderbilt's culture."
Simpson said that he really enjoyed his conversation with Vanderbilt associate head coach, special teams coordinator and tight ends coach Justin Lustig and liked how the coach felt he could be implemented into the Commodores' offense.
"It was great talking to Coach Lustig," Simpson said. "I really liked his enthusiasm and vision for how my skill set can be used in multiple ways within the Commodores' offense."
In addition to the opportunity from Vanderbilt, Simpson has also picked up offers from Louisville, Missouri and Texas Tech. Simpson has also garnered the interest of Iowa, Iowa State and Yale.
