You may have noticed in the thread title that I have finally decided to Trademark this statement.
You may ask why me and not Yogi Berra, but I'll tell that story another day because it's likely long and boring. Suffice to say, I finally begged my wife enough to allow me to rent all the Die Hard movies and to watch them back-to-back-to-back (I stop after the first 3, it got silly after that.) About 1/2 way through the third one, when I'm really getting into it, she wakes up from her nap long enough to ask, "Is it over?" to which I replied, "Honey bunch, it ain't over until John McCain says it's over! And, with John, it ain't over 'til it's over!"
Oops, I just told the story didn't I? Oh well, moving on.

I must say, Hawaii has a very good team -- plenty of good hitters, lots of good pitching, great defense (fielding-wise, they don't really throw the ball all that well if truth be told.)

After time and time leaving runners on base and no clutch hits:
[I'm going from memory here and my memory fades more each day, but I didn't get to the game until the 3rd inning because, silly me, I thought Sunday games started at 1 pm, not noon. I will read the schedule more closely going forward. So, as a result, it was useless to try and keep score. Instead, I just watched the game and fussed at the ump more than usual.** NOTE: HE WAS PATHETIC!! Worse even that yesterday's pathetic umpire. SEC umps aren't all that good but at least they are better than these Little League Reject Umpires we had this weekend.]

**funny story for later about the Security person pretend-cop at Saturday's game getting into a verbal foofaraw with mild, meek me. Suffice to say (again), she got the worse end of the deal and silly little matters continue to be silly little matters. It seems my entire life now is consumed by silly little matters -- my grandchildren!!!!

-- left loaded in the 2nd or 3rd innings
-- 2nd and 3rd another time
-- loaded again later
--numerous other runners left in scoring position

we finally got several clutch hits in the 11th and, to finish it off, the most clutch hit of all this year so far.
Love it, IT, sitting down yesterday must have given you time to think about things. "Riding the pine" will do wonders for one's swing I'm thinking. Corbs, as always, is a master genius baseball coach. He did that to Conrad Gregor once, 2013 I think, and got the same results going forward. He also "discovered" Zander Weil by sitting Gregor for a game.

So, bottom line -- we won the series, that's all that really matters for weekend series. Kudos to Hawaii for really making us earn it. Hawaii is an NCAAT team if I've every seen one. For our guys, this weekend will be very beneficial going forward I'm thinking, i.e., NEVER SAY DIE UNTIL THE LAST OUT IS MADE.

Tuesday's game promises to be a wash-out what with 6-8 inches of rain about to be dumped on us. {maybe not, though, have you ever noticed how bad Weatherpeople are at predicting the weather? How do they keep their jobs I'm wondering. Must know somebody.}

But that's not all bad either, because it frees up Jack and Ethan to be available for next weekend's big games in Los Angeles and we may need that depending on how Mason and Kumar's arms feel. One can never have enough good arms in the bullpen or on the mound.

Adios, Vandy amigos, I'm off to Krispy Kreme to buy my Celebratory Doughnuts! Hopefully, this time they'll have something besides glazed available. Seriously, if you're a Doughnut Shop, how do you ever run out of doughnuts? That's mind-boggling to me.
