After seeing the previous posts about the value of the Tennessee Titans to the city of Nashville I posed the same question to several neighbors today but changed the topic to Vanderbilt Football....Much to my surprise three of the four people I questioned had never attended a Vanderbilt Football Game & the fourth had only attended because I had given him & his son free tickets to a game (Wake Forrest, CJF last Home Game)...I asked them about it and most said Vanderbilt was an afterthought & no one would miss it if they no longer had a team....They all had an appreciation for the school & the hospital & even one of my neighbors daughters was trying to qualify for Vanderbilt as her primary choice. I know the sample is small & it is based in Brentwood/Williamson County but I think it is an accurate reflection of the Metroplex's reaction to Vanderbilt Football Program & the value it brings to the Greater Middle TN area.... I think changing this is much more difficult than anything the Titans must do to become the dominate force in the city once again....I currently see nothing in place changing the perception of Vanderbilt Football but hope I am wrong and the University's Administrators have a Secret Plan to make Vanderbilt Football Nashville's Team.....
