Off topic International Cell Phone Use

I have a question for those of you who travel internationally. I’m heading to Eastern Europe for a couple of weeks and was wondering what I should do about cell service. I’m on Verizon and they offer travel pass but it’ll cost me $10 per day to use my regular plan over there. It’ll give me unlimited data. I don't mind spending the money, but I just want to know how people who travel internationally on a regular basis handle things.
