While looking past any coach’s first 2 seasons as head coach, in the history of Vanderbilt Football, only 5 coaches have been brought back after only 1 or 2 wins the previous season:
Guepe: 61-62
Green: 65-66
Pancoast: 77-78
MacIntyre: 83-84
Brown: 89-90
The only coach to improve their record was MacIntyre from 2-9 to 5-6. The other four either stayed at 2 wins or dropped to 1. So, Vanderbilt has a history of failing to improve in situations like the one we may be in. Seems like we ARE kicking the can down the road again and 4 times out of 5 it is a dead end street.
