No, I didn't think the sky was falling before tonight, and I think our national seeding would have been effected. However, I do think losing to Ole Miss, espcially the way it looked like they going to lose, could have been a real test to their confidence. A loss last night would have meant Ole Miss had won 2 straight and 3 of the last 4 over Vandy. Mentally, that could have been a problems because the Rebels are a team that could be on our side to bracket if both teams make it to the CWS.
A loss would have last night would have reminded me of the mental obstacle the Gators were our first trip to the CWS (2011). That year, Florida won the regular season series (won 2 of 3), elminated Vandy from the SECT (won 5-0), beat Vandy twice in the CWS (won 3-1 & 6-4).
Yes, Vandy might face Ole Miss a second time in the SECT, but our Vandyboys now have the confidence of winning a blowout game and a walkoff game over the Rebels.
Oh yeah, one more thing. Last night's victory also reminds me of how Arkansas has won all year. The Razorbacks never go away until the last out. It's good to see that we're also capable of beating a good team in the same manner.
