Turner would love to let Mason go and get someone that he chooses. Wente is in the process of interviewing for the job of a lifetime. They just paid a huge buyout to a failed coach. Wente is making a decision that she feels is the right thing and will paint her in a good light and show that she is fiscally responsible. If there were a full time chancellor and VU didn’t just pay a huge buyout to another failed coach then Mason would be gone. I think it’s that simple folks.
