I can't help but start off with the fact that they are 1-8 in games decided by 5 points or less and I have been critical of almost all of the kids individually at times this season, but...
But they have been extremely resilient and to a man, have all improved.
-Fisher-Davis is beginning to show flashes, but the thing I am most proud of is that he continues to shoot. Shooters gotta shoot.
-Riley has hit a little wall but he continues to show up on the stat sheet regardless of how many he scores (5 assists today).
-Baldwin has become a very good leader already and is working his butt off with Coach Richardson on his shot.
-Roberson is a very solid role guy and has hit a few big shots.
-Mitchell is better now than he was, he just has to become a viable option to score from outside of 2 feet for him to be a great point guard. He has a lot of talent, but he has a long way to go to realize his potential.
-Jones is fighting harder now and despite all of the attention he gets is still factoring in to each game and is often the difference. He can get better at the line, fighting through contact and passing out of double teams, but he's still a really good player and is better right now than he was in November. He's close to breaking out again.
-Luke is playing like I expected him to play now. He's growing into his body and is real close to being unstoppable.
-Siakam is the heart of this team and although I think we'll be just fine without him next year, his determination and leadership is the main reason this team has improved and is now very dangerous. I really really love James Siakam.
Well done, young men. You guys could have folded the tent today against a tough matchup and a desperate team playing very well, but instead, you won. You found a way to win and that's what it's all about.
