I am consistently wrong about Pavia

When Vanderbilt signed Pavia last Spring, I thought for sure that he was coming on board to primarily be a mentor for Nate Johnson and maybe QB2. More like another coach than the QB1. Obviously, I was 100% wrong about that take. So, one would have thought that I would learn from my mistake. Nope.

Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago. As Pavia's lawsuit was lingering, my feeling was that it was in Vanderbilt's best interest to move on from Pavia and find a new QB in the portal. My thinking was twofold - 1) if they waited and he lost the case, then they were in big trouble QB-wise (probably a reasonable take) and 2) I felt that Pavia had likely peaked this year and would likely regress in year 2 with Vanderbilt (this one's not looking so smart right now).

After yesterday, I'm finally on the full-time Pavia bandwagon for as long as he can figure out how to be at Vanderbilt. He was clearly the better QB in that game and King is no slouch. He just wills his team to victory. He is also a much better passer than I ever expected. So, sign me up for the Diego Pavia fan club and let's get ready for 2025 Vanderbilt football. The only issue is how to keep him upright and reasonably healthy all year (and better have QB2 ready to give him some rest).
