Bottom line is that this team was not as talented as the last several years. Not nearly enough quality pitching, which obviously really missed Donny Everett, and too many holes in the lineup (getting almost nothing out of someone like Alonzo Jones really hurt this year). It happens to every college program, as it is very tough to re-load every year when you are trying thread the needle of getting the best guys who don't sign a professional contract. Making the Super Regionals in a down year is still a pretty good accomplishment for this program.
