- Officials: dont know what else to say. Worst in 35 years. 8 reviews??? All against Vandy (the one resulted in a PI despite incompletion and it was pushing off all the way down the field.)

- I will say how bad the knee down on the sack really was. It cost andy 20 seconds by not calling it a sack. Mizou would have had to run back to LOS line up and run another play or spike. Instead they go more time and snapped it immediately upon the whistle

- Offense Scheme: Sims is making a major difference. His speed and pop thru the hole is night and day. Webb ran hard and Crawford showed flashes of helping team too.

- Webb: Ran hard but has to have better awareness. Sideline step out was costly and he didnt have to step out watching the replay. Also the run to the goal line - left his feet like he was diving into the end zone on a long run and was turned around in the air. Keep head up feet down and drive thru goal line.

- TE - good to see Scheu make some hard catches again. Marcus is a circus catch right now. No offense to Mr Marcus I know he is trying but have to make that catch again and not bobble the catch late in the game.

- WR - still not getting a lot of separation but glad to see Trent not drop any slants last night. That was big. Still dong a nice job of YAC and being tuff.

- QBs...I had no problem either way. Just not in a good position right now but Shurmur was Ok and JM did what he was asked. It was obvious to me CAL is trying to take what Shurmur does well and what JM does well and get the most out of both. Johnny is not a running QB as we have said over and over and over again but he is mobile and can run the read option and make people pay like in the mtsu and Mizzou games. Shurmur can not run like that. Bottom line it worked. Not sure it will work again. Dont know if JM can keep from making mistakes and not sure if Shurmur can get enough time or WR sep. to use his good arm and decision making skills. We shall see...

- Special Teams: Bankins has to step it up - not a fan and not sure what happens after this season. 10 men on field for fake and second fake of year.

- Openshaw: great punts, weak FG seem to be getting weaker and the choke at end. Surprised they ran to right on 3rd down and not to middle to line it up - maybe he likes it from the right closer to hash.

- Punt return made a difference for the first time I can remember. Some hard yards and good decisions to make sure to catch balls that could have bounced.

- Defense: what can you say. Great effort. Good push early and flying around. Seemed to be gassed late and pressure totally went away. On long QB scramble, right before snap Safeties cam up and went out wide - middle wide open not sure why the call or what happened but something didnt look right before the snap.

More Sheffield out there and of course the young dumb PI late that wasnt necessary but glad to see him - not sure if that was injury related.

Burkes seems to flash them sometimes take a bad angle or recognize late. The over the top stuff still scares me.

- Great game mgt by Mason to realize 1 sec still on clock at end of half. Good good of running down clock to end game and use Mizzou timeouts.

- Ludwig got more yards and and moved the ball more than I thought we would but still cant finish. Its just an athlete issue as the field gets smaller imho. Still would like to see Wildcat with Sherfield and Sims. Still do not understand the Power I on short yardage.

- OL - seemed they rotated several players on the right side 3 -4 guys to play the 2 spots. Still lots of work to do up front.

2 ways to look at the last few minutes. Pulled out a win despite refs and stupid mistakes that SOV would have lost or you are upset with last few minutes of play not putting them away.

I have no clue what happens going forward at QB. My guess is there will be 2 playing with packages for each regarding more a run option for JM and more down field outside hash throws for Shurmur.

PS - One thing I forgot to mention. Along with my theme last week of "Punting was good" I did not like the decision to throw and go for it on 3&10 before half. We were playing conservatively but then got a first down. Nothing going on first on second down after that so we should have just played it safe on 3rd and punted.

Lets ride!!
