With all the baggage from last year's results overwhelming the mood about football, it appears to me that we are failing to recognize that we have steadily accumulated lots and lots of studs on the defensive side of the ball. When I look at the linebackers alone, I don't believe we have ever seen this kind of talent at Vanderbilt, especially when you throw Josh Smith into the mix. Our DLine has some beef, experience and some really promising edge rushers. The secondary really had some issues last year. But when I look there, I see that we played mostly freshmen/redshirt freshmen. a few of them seemed much improved in the spring game. And many were highly coveted recruits, including our super stud, incoming freshman. So the question is:
What do you think about the talent level of the defense?
Part B: Does it give you any hope for 2015?
