Y’all thought Vanderbilt was negatively recruited before? Our long time commit just decommited prior to even taking a FREE official visit weekend in Nashville bc he was convinced Mason is done at Vandy.
Everyone knows Mason is a lame duck and is going to be fired. No decent recruit is going to commit to Vandy next summer/fall when he has other Power 5 teams recruiting him.The new HC (Will Healy) will have a couple weeks to throw together a few early signees worth a damn and then dumpster dive in January.
Keeping Mason basically skips an entire recruiting cycle. A cycle which is supposed to be the first “full” class in several years. At a school that gets zero productive walk ons and has strict limitations about over signing.
Think Mason is going to go into the season with 1-2 commits? Hell no, admin can use that against him. We will have an MTSU caliber class of 18 kids in August. This decision by Turner will set the new coach back several years.
