To me there is a difference bt losing and blaming Mason. Tonight was not Mason's fault. Its on the players. Period. However, at the end of the day, if you keep losing you are out period. Doesnt matter and trends and patterns set in (like multiple TOs every game).
Point is, like sales people its a performance biz. Some great ppl who do all the right things still cant close and no one is exactly sure why, but we fire them anyway.
If he keeps losing, he is gone. Another 2-3 win season I believe gets him out the door. That is different from saying every delay of game or punting from your own 40 is the worst thing ever and fire him on the spot. Each individual game is not his fault. It can be, but this one was not. Last yr several games were his fault bc Dorrell had no plan and the DC was clueless. You just look stupid as every game has gray area calls and decisions. People like WND act as if a game is perfectly executed. Watch Saturday with the same eye as WND and see how many coaches look stupid.
Point is, instead of destroying the board with stupid crap like "see that TO in the 2 qtr shows why he is an idiot and should be fired" - just wait on the body of work. Tonight he coached a defense to a very good performance. The Offense has little to work with but moved the ball. The players could not close. Marcus dropped a god awful pass and JMac needs no mention.
Team was prepared but not very talented on O - D looked much better but not amazing. If that doesnt translate into wins, then someone else will get a try. And I know all that matters are the wins but do you really think a magical new scheme would keep the OL from sucking? Do you really think Mason can magically coach up a WR that is truly SEC caliber? If Mason were just smarter, would Ralph Webb turn into Zac Stacy? If Mason had a top 30 recruiting class last yr, how many of those would be helping lift up Franklins Jr & Srs on offense?
