In the age of the new college football playoff system, my opinion is that the SEC championship game should be eliminated because it hurts the SEC for getting teams in the playoff. Why play another game against a highly ranked opponent if you’re on the bubblle. You lose and you’re out of the playoffs. It’s not like there’s been an SEC championship game for 100 years. I believe it started at 92 so who gives a crap, it’s not a tradition. I think the SEC should add one more conference game to make up for the championship game and let the chips fall where they may. For example, if Texas or Georgia would’ve had three losses and made it to the championship game and then lost, they would’ve been eliminated from the playoffs because they have four losses. Just don’t get the point of having a final championship game. Welcome your thoughts.
