This would be an absolute nightmare scenario for VU... not only not getting a national seed but also drawing a Virginia team that has gotten healthy and IMO is the best 2-seed in the field, plus, Lipscomb as a 4 when it has a résumé of a 3, plus, a Maryland team as a 3 that I had as a 2 since it went 3-1 vs. the Top 25 and 13-9 against the top 50.
And to boot, VU would be matched against a Miami team that's No. 1 in the RPI, was No. 1 in Jeff Sagarin's ratings until he stopped updating them a week ago, and has the top Pythagorean record in the country, which I think if you adjust it for quality of opponent may be the best indicator of how good you are anyway. And in Miami's case, it came against a top-10 strength of schedule.
If this actually happened, I don't know that I can remember a team getting a worse draw, and I mean that in all seriousness.
