I know this place is going crazy about whether Mason should stay for 2016. We still have 10 games and we need to see how that goes. But here are a couple of things that I see for 2016 that I don't think have been mentioned.
1 - defense will be even better. Look around the fan sites and everyone is already talking about how good he is at running a defense. It will only get better. If we change to a coach that doesn't run the system he installed, it's back to ground zero.
2 - OL will be better. another year of S&C. more experience for the young guys. JELKS will be back!!! Next year will certainly be better.
3 - QB could be much much better. Mason's recruit, Shurmur, could be a superstar. Stankavage, who I thought was best in the spring game, is also available. This could be a MAJOR upgrade if McCrary can't clean it up this year.
So that is why I don't want to rush into changing coaches, systems, & recruiting without careful consideration. Starting over isn't for the faint of heart, nor is the 2 years to get that coach's program estqablished. Things set up quite nicely for 2016. Please ! lets see how this year goes.
