  • It’s a new year. They want to be relentless, smart and tough. - SP
  • The way VU practices, they practice as if the 2s and 3s will be starters. They play for worst-case scenario to be ready for the next guy. So as far as QBs go it doesn’t really matter who the starter is. - SP
  • They’ve seen parts of WKU’s offense before in other games. QB and TEs are good, so is their RB. - DH
  • Doughty’s best quality is that he makes smart decisions. - DH
  • Mason called plays in UT game last year. You saw what happened. They came together in that game. - DH
  • WKU likes to use wheel routes a lot. - DH
  • They’re told to go out and “blow their gasket. … go until you can’t go any more.” This was in regards to rotations and such. - TS
  • They won’t talk too much about game planning but they will put pressure on WKU.
  • You need to know the whole offense and switch positions, so that’s made playing center easier. - SP
  • They didn’t need as much time as they had in August to get ready. - SP
  • Experience imbalance doesn’t make a difference. (Gouger, Crooks and Fromang haven’t started; they’re on the right side.) - SP
  • Teams think they know what’s coming, but they really don’t. - DH
  • It’s not been hard to keep a secret in regards to starting QB. - SP
  • It’s his fifth year here, the QBs have worked as hard or harder than they did in the past. - SP
