Interesting comments on Sunday night football by Cris Collingsworth. He was talking about HC of Panthers success and he said Jimmie Johnson gave Rivera this advice :
"Just be who you are. You are a defensive coach stay in the defensive room, listen to your offensive guys. Make suggestions but don't be who you're not."
There are some on this board that get worked up about what Mason does as a head coach and what Ludwig does etc. Bottom line all coaches behind the scenes delegate and put the decisions in the hands of those getting paid high six and seven figures. This idea that Mason is not really a head coach bc he focuses on defense and let's CAL decide who needs to play QB etc is nitpicking and obviously it works for ppl like Jimmy Johnson and Ron Rivera.
