in my opinion, as strength of schedule and coach's philosophy re "emptying the bench" in blow outs plays a role here.

Only one player in top 100 of any individual player category: Kornet tied for 21st in blocks
[Scoring, 2 pt %, 3 pt %, FT %, Rebounds, Assists, Steals, Blocks]
Editorial Note: Most of us would conclude this year's team's success will be based on the full team's performance as opposed to one or two individuals.
Off Topic Editorial Note: Pascal Siakam, James' brother, is 2nd in the nation in scoring and 12th in rebounding

From a team perspective, only one number stands out as a real differentiator so far - - blocks @ 17th in the nation. Some of the other numbers are pretty good while a few are mildly troubling:

Assists: 108th (below expectations) [Are we relying more on one-on-one play?]
Steals: 252nd (consistent with our defensive philosophy)
Rebounds: 76th (slightly above expectations)
2 Pt %: 81st: (below expectations) [troubling stat, e.g., finishing around the rim plus mid-range jumpers]
FT %: 69.5 (at expectation) [73% w/o Damian's numbers]
3 pt %: 80th (below expectations) [6 for 27 against KU - - a killer based on the high volume of shots and low percentage of makes - - happens when you are playing catch-up and against good perimeter defensive teams]
FG %: 55th (slightly below expectation)
PPG: 46th (above expectation)
