After 13 games, I feel like we know a few things so far and have some positions in the field and lineup up in the air.

Positions on lock:

-Vastine at SS - I like him in the 9 hole.

-Diaz at 3rd - Diaz is solid

-Espinal at C - better at C and better hitter than Bulger, right? Appears to have the cleanup spot on lock.

-Austin wherever - 2b appears to be on lock so either CF or 1B depending on other players’ health and success

-Jayden Davis at 2b - to me, I like his bat in the 2 hole and his glove, so I think he has this one on lock. Do we need to see more to know if he’s the guy or do others agree here?

-Kozeal as DH - if Davis has 2b on lock, I guess Kozeal stays at DH. Can Kozeal play LF or RF? I like both Davis and Kozeal batting 2/3 respectively.

I feel like the above 6 are guys we can win with and if I had a gun to my head, believe Corbin feels the same way.

3 other spots for several players…

Hewitt - appears to be a key part of the team and his defensive versatility is a huge plus as he can play any outfield position effectively.

LaNeve - Can play left or right field, feel like he’s going to primarily go against righties and maybe sit vs lefties. I’d prefer him to just be a beast and earn a full time position but if he’s not, we have good right hand hitting options.

Humphrey - is he legit? His speed and defense may move him to CF on lock, right? If he was just sick this weekend, does he move back to a full time lock in the outfield depending on where Austin is playing?

Bulger - you can’t sit Kozeal for Bulger, right? Unless Camden proves he can’t hit lefties, which doesn’t appear to be the case, Bulger may struggle to get at bats. Can’t sit Espinal for Bulger, right? It’s nice to have two catchers who can hit but this may be an issue moving forward. How does Corbin solve this one?

Maldonado - I think Maldonado may be the odd man out here. Pinch hitter, runner and or defensive replacement. You’re going to need depth but I’m just not so sure Maldo can fight his way back into the lineup unless we have some injuries or spot starts due to weather.

Polk - his versatility will help him get on the field but when Maldo and Bulger are healthy, I think Polk is the odd man out.

Ossenfort and Holcomb - both big power but not sure they get into the lineup this year. I’d love it if they did. What do y’all think about these two?

What am I missing here?
