I'm sure its something that we all noticed but after the SC & especially Houston games there was a philosophical shift that took place with the offense to try and limit turnovers. At the halfway mark in the season VU actually ranked 51st nationally in total O (hard to believe now with our 119th ranking). Currently VU sits at 118th in turnovers lost with 24, after 6 games featuring 16 turnovers the only team in the nation with more was Maryland if I remember correctly.
Was the decision made to go too conservative? Probably but if we were looking at the offense from a yardage production stand point 6 weeks ago we might have taken a different look
