Is Missouri a ‘Must Win’ for Clark Lea?

I want to say yes.

The 3-1 start was nice but 8 straight losses and another 0-8 SEC season is a damn hard pitch to these recruits we’re trying to hold on to. Matchup wise, I think we get “out-talented” by Kentucky, South Carolina, and Florida.. (we’re not even going to talk about the last game.

At some point you have to stop talking about a vision and start demonstrating actual progress - Saturday is our best opportunity. Nashville/SEC/Education/Playing time are all a decent pitch.. but kids don’t want to go 2-10/3-9 losing every conference game by 30+ points.

Want to convince a Will Sheppard to stay at Vandy and see it through? Better start winning some games…. Let’s start Saturday!

Dylan Disu

Sadly he’s an example on how the Portal could be the wrong thing to do . Went to the bench in Texas from being a star in the SEC . Didn’t play much last year .
I’m a trucker so I listen to a bunch of random cramp and stumbled across a Texas Bball prediction podcast to see if they were hype about him..
They predicted the top 5 players and people who’ll make a difference . They didn’t mention him one time which is wild . I hate to see a kids talent wasted.. Just imagine if we would’ve had him these last 2 years . I could see 3-5 games each of those years would’ve been won with him playing the 4. With the size and talent he had would’ve been a easy draft pick

Out here on a razor thin limb.....

My 215 lb rear end is out here on a limb that wouldn't hold up a chihuahua, but I have a feeling about this Mizzou game.

I've heard complaints about how Lea called the last three games. He didn't coach to win. He played chicken s*** football. Our playcalling sucks. All valid points.

I also don’t think that Lea is an idiot. He knew we had zero chance to be competitive, much less win, in the last three games. He was like us, let's just get out of them injury free. So, he shortened the game when it got out hand.

Now, we have a few games we have a shot in.

I expect to see an aggressive offense and defense tomorrow. I expect to be very much in this game in the fourth quarter. I don't care about "Mizzou only lost to Georgia by four". We are Vanderbilt fans, we've seen good teams overlook us before, and the games wind up closer than we thought they would be, and that's what happened with Georgia vs Mizzou.

I think we are in this game in the fourth, and AJ leads us to an SEC road win, 31-27.

Like I said above, I'm out here on a thin limb.......WHO'S WITH ME??

Chancellor’s Suite Invite

So, the improbable has happened: Mrs FVL and I have been invited to THE Suite for the Florida game. As some know, she is a professor at peabody and I barely graduated, with the latter making more and more sense as I continue this post. Given that we both ducked the 30th reunion festivities, and generally avoid events there, this invite is a bit out of the blue. Can guarantee its not due to filling out the numerous envelopes for Legacy Fundraising at VU. Maybe its more of a snapshot of where the Development folks are these days.

Not sure if CDD will actually be there, but assume so, since its his Suite.

Nonetheless, Taking questions for the Chancellor. Please make them questions that you would actually ask him to his face.

I will report back what I gather.

And, yes, I will wear the star V.
