I thought we played with more desire and toughness than UK, and all of that credit goes to Lea. They had mostly the right defense against us, their DC had a funny way of wording it if you listened to the broadcast: “I don’t need my front 7 to “lie” to the next level.” But all he was saying is they have to move into their gaps so the LB can clean up. They mostly did just that and our athletes, Pavia, Stowers, Alexander etc beat their LBS. Thats almost a bigger sign to me than the Alabama game as it shows we can win after a team adapts to us. Which means we can potentially keep winning game after game.

I was dead wrong about Lea (except when I debated that person about the Missouri game and said Lea was a much better coach than Mason that was the one time I was right about Lea; damn I wish I could remember other user names like you psychos and find posts from weeks ago let alone years ago in the fell attempt to show one person was slightly more wrong than me 😜). But on a serious note; this isn’t a gimmick offense — this is a program on the rise. You can see it in the way the team put themselves out there for one another. Thats always the biggest sign to me of a team that cares and wants to win. Kudos to them and Lea.

Listen guy, it’s not Vandy’s fault you picked the school that is known for their fanbase using all their vacation time per year for the SEC tournament in March. The pocket books are LIGHT in Lexington.

Also, zero star pissin Pavia was not a big NiL spend. He earned his NiL money the hard way.

You all know the story, after a loss to South Carolina under Mason, I vowed to never come back to Dudley Field until we were a well coached team. That was 2016.

It has taken 8 freaking years, but, this team is a well coached, fun team to watch.

I think my return happens soon. Since I left after a bad loss to South Carolina, that's probably going to be my return game!

Everyone is aware of the difference Coach Beck and Coach Kill have had with this program. However, Clark Lea is the Head Coach. He is the leader of this team and this program. I don't recall who the successful person was that said this (someone on this board will know who did)-------" I don't hire smart people and then tell them what to do. I hire smart people so they can tell me what to do".

I wonder if he has weighed in on the big win? Wonder if he plans to reach out to Diego?

Credit to Lea for making changes. I love what we are doing on offense, and the defense is maxing out. Hopefully, this leads to getting better players and we keep the good ones we have.

I was just reading in another thread about who was our worst coach between Lea and Mason. It got me thinking.

Between Lea and Mason at their best, who was better?

When Mason had Ludwig and Shurmur, and went 6-6, could they compete with this team?

This Lea team with Kill, Beck, and Pavia is doing things we've never seen done before. I mean, take away that Georgia State fiasco (I still don't understand how we lost it), this team isn't only ranked, but probably in the 11-16 range.

I personally think Lea is better than Mason at their worst, and that he's better at their best, too.

I just thought it would be a different spin on the debate.

two of the three players interviewed postgame started as walk ons (Rinaldi, Hoskins). The two fullbacks too. Fisher and Adebi. Kudos to CCL, Barton Simmons and staff and admin for implementing a productive walkon program that does more than fill scout team numbers but has tangible results on gameday.

And yet, Vanderbilt found a worse coach.

Against ole Miss is a fan base desperate for a reason to storm the field in a meh win. Fine them 3 milly for it. Absolutely no reason to rush the field.

It’s hard to describe how exquisite that offensive game-plan was. Yes, Diego and the players executed, but that was an absolute master-class of generating leverage in every possession. Incredible win.
