We are 17-7

despite losing some games we possibly might have won. Why the excitement? We were the #1 team all year in 2007. We were 26-3 in 2013 in SEC play. How did all that work out? Meanwhile teams in 2014 and 2019 with lesser resumes took home a NC. This is chess not checkers. A 3-3 record the rest of the way gets us to 20 wins and almost certainly a national seed. If we hold serve at home we get to Omaha. Stay focused on the Prize.

Ford and Lubin

I feel like we know that both of these former top 100 players visited VU but not much else. Feels like we need both if Tyrin doesn't return and just one if he does (but obv would love to have both).

Any feel on these two players? Read Joey's Tweet about Lubin and know he's a big man from Notre D, but anything else? What about Ford? Who are the other main contenders to land them?

Looks like Vandy is in with Ariz St, BYU, NC State.

Jeff Goodman on Vanderbilt

Goodman had Vanderbilt as his biggest transfer portal loser on today's Field of 68 podcast, here's what he said:

"It is Vandy, they're the clear loser right now in my opinion. I mean they've lost like everybody, Tyrin Lawrence left, Jordan Wright left, Myles Stute left, and they're all going pretty good places. Like Lawrence is probably gonna go to another SEC school. This is a program that gotten some momentum finally at the end of last year. Things were really looking up for Stack. Obviously he's begging to try to get that Raptors job right now because of his connection with the G-League team. I don't think he's gonna get it. Now you've got a completley revamped team and you're starting from scratch again, again there's some turmoil going on behind the scenes with that program right now."

Inexcusable Effort

That was just pathetic. Losing is one thing; not being focused and ready to play is an entirely different matter. Misplayed balls, mental errors, poor approach at the plate, CTC/Brown leaving Reilly out there to flap in the wind, when he was the one guy who actually showed up tonight, was just a complete brain freeze on their part.

No excuses: coaches and players alike should be completely and totally embarrassed by that display tonight. Absolutely ridiculous. You’d have thought VU was the team being investigated for potential gambling issues with that display tonight.
