Jerry Stackhouse, Liam Robbins, and Ezra Majon spoke to the media today in what is likely their final presser before the season opener.
Jerry Stackhouse Availability:
- Thinks that the 2022 freshman class is his most talented group, he's going mainly with his older group right now but thinks the freshmen could get more into the mix as time goes on
- Thinks Malik Dia can play the five, Stackhouse continues to rave about Dia's pure talent, says Jordan Wright has as well. Stack noted that Dia is still learning the college game, the defensive end, and how to share the floor with other high level players, though.
- Thinks the offense is a strong-suit and that it may be flowing better than it has at this point in past years.
- Vanderbilt still wants to hang its hat on being a defensive unit first.
- Stackhouse signed the extension because he believes in what they're building as a program. He wants to take the next step as a program and finish what he started.
- The goal is to get into the NCAA tournament and make some noise, Stackhouse says he believes that the goal is attainable with this roster.
Liam Robbins Availability:
-"I'm completely healthy this year, I haven't missed a single practice or workout or anything like that, I'm back to full health"
-Has worked on his outside shot, rebounding, and his handle this offseason
-Talked about how talented Lee Dort and Malik Dia are
-Raved about Ezra Manjon's defense
-Thinks they will be a disciplined, impressive defensive group
Ezra Manjon Availability:
-Thinks his role will be more oriented on fitting into what Vanderbilt already has rather than being a primary scoring option
-"Defensively I think is where I really show separation, I love defense"
- Said that Paul Lewis is "developing like crazy right now" and that he "will play this year"
- Thinks that they will be able to separate themselves with how active they are defensively
