Saw a tweet about Keonte Kennedy scoring in double figures for 5 straight for Memphis. Got me thinking about all the "what could have been moments" for Vandy the last few years.
The most frustrating thing I can even think of is how much Drew was going to recruit at Vandy. I'll never forget having that top 10 class with Shittu/Garland/Nesmith. So much excitement.
Look at our visits from 2018:
Saddiq Bey (averaging 10+ in NBA for 3rd straight year)
Simi (I know, he was awful)
Garland
Filip Petrusev (stud for Gonzaga)
Romeo Langford (that one still hurts)
Ignas Brazdeikas (short NBA career after a solid career at UMich)
Nesmith
wow. that is some talent. If he just could have found a way to win 3-4 games that year we lost Garland, would be interesting to see how it all played out. (but, we did find out that he just wasn't a great coach)
Now to Stack - imagine having this roster last season:
Scotty Pippen
Rodney Chatman
Dylan Disu
Jordan Wright
Liam Robbins
Kenyon Martin Jr
And if you really wanted to throw in Garland, Shittu, Nesmith... they would have been Sr last year but would be a stretch for those guys to obviously stay for 4 years
We've had some bad luck with injuries the last 5-6 years but we've also lost some big name guys. That's college hoops though. Fun to imagine what could have been
